Swiss motorway service areas: Stakeholder discussion
The SwissGayFetish Club has been invited to take part in a round table bringing together representatives from public authorities, community organisations and prevention services to discuss the topic of social and sexual encounters taking place at motorway service areas in the Canton of Fribourg.
On 16 September 2026, following a proposal by Empreinte, the health partner of the SwissGayFetish Club, our President will take part in a round-table discussion aimed at identifying possible approaches and solutions regarding the use of motorway service areas in the Canton of Fribourg, which are also frequented by GHG* for social encounters, sometimes involving discreet or openly visible sexual behaviour.
Representatives from the Cantonal Police, OFROU (Federal Roads Office), SIERA (Intercantonal motorway network maintenance service) and Sarigai will be present to:

Present the mission and role of each participating organisation;

Review the historical use of motorway service areas by GHG;

Assess the current situation and identify the challenges faced by the various authorities and stakeholders;

Explore possible solutions and improvements, particularly to reduce vandalism, littering and waste, as well as public sexual behaviours (for example through on-site awareness and prevention campaigns).
